Folder of Ruchla Zylberberg

Ruchla Zylberberg was born on 6 May 1936 in Zawichost, 100 kilometres from Radom. After the occupation of Poland by the German Wehrmacht, several members of the Zylberberg family fled to the Soviet Union in the autumn of 1939. Nison Zylberberg was planning to get his family to join him there, but after Germany attacked the Soviet Union on 22 June 1941, this became impossible. Nison’s wife Fajga, Ruchla and her sister Ester, who was two years younger, were all deported to Auschwitz, where Fajga and Ester Zylberberg were murdered. Ruchla Zylberberg was taken to the Neuengamme concentration camp on 28 November 1944 and murdered in Bullenhuser Damm on 20 April 1945 aged 8.
